MFRI Executive Development Seminar: Common Threads and Missing Links in Today's Combat Fire Environment 2010 [ 118 KB ]
Today's combat fire environment is not like that of twenty years ago. Firefighters and EMS providers are being injured early in incidents because of the changing environment. What commonalities emerge when these types of incidents are reviewed? What can the industry learn from this? This seminar examines the history of the firefighting environment and will address the challenges and inherent dangers of building construction, materials, and contents. The impact of staffing levels, rules of engagement, along with strategy and tactics decision making will be discussed. Attend the seminar and become an advocate, or strengthen your safety views, to reduce firefighter injuries and line of duty deaths by understanding the specific challenges of today's fire environment. Return home ready to address "that was then, this is now," examine your own common threads, and connect the missing links to strengthen your organization.
